SnipKey Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 16, 2026

The short version

SnipKey collects nothing. Your snippets, settings, and usage counts are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.

Data storage

Page access

SnipKey's content script runs on web pages so it can detect shortcuts as you type in text fields and replace them with your snippet text. This happens entirely on your device. SnipKey does not read page content beyond the text field being typed in, and it does not transmit page content, keystrokes, or any other data off your device. Password fields are ignored entirely.

Payments (Pro upgrade)

The optional Pro upgrade is processed by ExtensionPay and Stripe. When you purchase, ExtensionPay handles your email address and payment status; card details are handled by Stripe. SnipKey never sees or stores your payment information. See the ExtensionPay privacy policy and the Stripe privacy policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date.
